A long walk on the Isle of Skye 2012
Flora and fauna
Unfortunately for you dear viewers I didn't have a very effective zoom as I carried a small compact as opposed to my SLR. This was mainly due to expecting very wet testing conditions and I didn't want the extra weight. So although I saw and observed oodles of wildlife including a Golden Eagle and an Otter, all I managed was a shot of an Otters Arse, and the odd flowere here and there
the moss was growing in hexagonal patterns around the clumps of festuca
lots of yellow around in the kerbs
and plenty of anemones
and the odd common orchid
as it was wet there are plenty of marsh marigolds
and pinks on the tidal river banks
and the bird pecked crab shells
common grey seals on the shores near Loch Coruisk
some fatties in amongst the younger pups
birch and rowan are common to Skye
this Alpine was up on Bla Bheinn - very pretty but no idea what it is
again high up on Bla Bheinn
crystalline ? in amongst the Gabbro on the south ridge of Bla Bheinn
this was down on the coast, and again I don't know what it is called
spot the otter
that's a big bum
plenty of flag Iris around the coast
and the odd hairy caterpillar
this dead moss shows what a dry spring they had up in Skye
more sea pinks
